Since its establishment fifty years ago, the Arab Coordination Group (ACG) has played a vital role in advancing global development. With contributions exceeding $280 billion, the Group has significantly improved living standards for millions and supported economic growth in developing countries.
The strength of the ACG goes beyond funding. We play advisory role to each other; we share knowledge, expertise and training. AGFUND has presented some initiatives that were supported by members of the ACG.
Over the past five decades, the Group has provided more than 5,000 loans to support development projects across vital sectors — including education, health, infrastructure, energy, and water — as well as rapid response to crises and disasters. These efforts have had a profound impact on improving the lives of millions in developing countries around the world, particularly across the African continent.
Over the past five years, the Group has launched a number of impactful initiatives in response to global development challenges. Among the most notable are the COVID-19 response, food security, climate finance, support for the African continent, just energy transition, and combating desertification — with total commitments amounting to nearly USD 100 billion through 2030.
Mauritania has benefited from strong support by members of the Arab Coordination Group, including the Fund, across several vital sectors such as energy, water, and infrastructure. We thank the Group for its continued support and commitment to our country, and we wish it continued success year after year.
The Arab Coordination group is an example of successful partnership. The 10 organizations members of the Arab coordination group have been working hand in hand over the past 50 years to deliver impact across the world.
As we look ahead, Azerbaijan remains committed to strengthening this partnership -and we wish the ACG continued success in its mission to foster sustainable, inclusive development across the Global South.
We have been having a stand strategic relationship with different members of the Arab Coordination group, so we wish that this celebration for the 50th anniversary will be the beginning of the best phase of the history of the group and hopefully an opportunity to strengthen the relationship.

The Arab Fund is proud to be one of the first institutions to support the ACG. We at Arab Fund have an important role in our beneficiary countries. We provided about 15 billion US dollar to co-finance infrastructure projects in different countries, and we will continue to support the ACG mission to maximize development impact.
Together with ACG and GPE, we have mobilized 850 million for the Smart Ed Initiative, supporting countries like Chad, Cameroon, Kyrgyz Republic, and Uzbekistan to build stronger, more inclusive education system. The Smart Ed Initiative has catalyzed transformative investments, improving access to quality education, enhancing learning outcomes, and supporting national reforms.
The Group continues to serve as an important catalyst for international development, supporting nations in need, which is a clear commitment from its own shareholders to ensure that they provide the support needed.
